The wife and I went and saw I am Legend over the Christmas break. It's been a while since I've spent the whole movie on the edge of my seat clenched in anticipation. Will Smith is one of my favorite actors even though he may not be the best actor. The movie is amazing. I'm a sucker for end of world, nature takes back over kind of stuff. The concept of the movie is a virus is manipulated to kill cancer. It goes awry of course and every one dies. Every one except Dr. Robert Neville, virologist. Funny how a virologist is the only one immune to a killer virus. So, Dr. Neville spends his days working on cure and trying to contact other possible survivors. That's all good and well but if all the bridges have been destroyed how do survivors get to you......Boats? Every summer my dad used to have to buy a new lawn mower because he didn't know gas goes bad. How does Dr. Neville's gas stay fresh? Dr. Neville comments on how the "dark seekers" showed a total break down of human survival instincts because they allowed themselves to be exposed to the sun once. Is it really he who has broken down and is losing grip with his human instincts? Chasing his dog into an unsafe area? Talking to mannequins?
Any way, I'd completely recommend this movie to action/ sci fi fans. Or if you love seeing Will Smith looking ripped with no shirt on. Oh, and this is apparently a remake of Mega man a Charlton Heston film, or so the father in law says. I'm gonna check that out to.

There were lots of people, including my 8-year old stepson, who felt the movie wasn't scary at all. To me it was scary in that it was a possibility in real life.
I still wish the main character could have some "part" in a new series, if it ever came out.
