How To Buy Something On Ebay
Want to get started buying on eBay but not sure how?
eBay.com is a great place to buy virtually anything - but if you've never purchased anything online, how do you get started? This short article will walk you through getting started on eBay and making your first purchase.
Step one: Have a look around eBay
First, get yourself familiar with eBay and what it has to offer. If you havn't already, go to www.eBay.com and look around.
Step two: Sign up for an eBay account
The next step is registering which is quick, easy and free. To register all you need to do is fill-out an online eBay form with your information. You will be asked for your name, email address, real address, & phone number. You will also be asked to choose a member-name and password. Don't worry about your privacy - eBay is one of the largest and most trusted companies on the internet. They will not sell your personal information or abuse it in any way. To register go to the eBay sign up page by clicking here. or go directly to ebay.com. After filling-in the registration form eBay will send an email message to the email address you provided. Check your inbox and follow the instructions to activate your account. If you have questions about registering, see the eBay help page.
Step three: Find something to buy!
Now that you have an eBay account, you need to find something to buy. For beginners, the easiest way to find something is to use the eBay search page. Once on the eBay search page just type in what you are looking for and a list of auctions will be displayed.
When buying or bidding on something for the first time, look for something cheap and inexpensive. This will let you get a feel for how the auctions work without the stress or pressure of worrying about something going wrong and loosing a large sum of money. Once you've found something cheap, place your bid by clicking the "Place Bid" button and entering the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. eBay will automatically increase your bid amount in small increments up to the maximum amount you enter.
What is Buy It Now?
Many eBay sellers offer a Buy It Now (BIN) option. Using Buy It Now will bypass the auction process and lets you "Buy it now".
Pay for your items:
Once you win your auction or use the Buy it Now option it is time to pay. You can pay via Pay Pal or with credit card. I recommend using a credit card because of the protection it offers, but many sellers only accept PayPal payments. PayPal also offers fraud protection if you follow their guidelines, and is generally very safe to use.

Today was my first time i started buying stuff on Ebay, i bid alot stuff, (which i don't want anymore and some bids i won already) please, tell me how do i cancel it ? I really dont want to buy them.

If the auction has not ended, you can cancel your bid but that's not something you want to do often. Just search eBay for "retract a bid".
If the auction already ended, you can contact the seller and say that you bid by mistake and would like to cancel the transaction. If seller agrees, you might be off the hook. If they don't, you'll need to pay for the item.

If I start bidding on an item and the auction ends up getting to a higher price than the "Buy It Now" price, can I stop bidding and take the Buy It Now price? Or once I start bidding, will that Buy It Now price disappear? I hope this makes sense.

Hello,
I bought 2 items on ebay, y chosed credit card option to pay, and the sistem just took me out.
On the invoice i received, the items appear like complete checkout, but in ´my eBay´ they appear like waiting to be paid for. Now i dont find anywhere any button to pay the items, and also my paypal account now is limited. How i can pay for those items directly with mi credit card?

If I have money on my paypal account, why do I need to link a credit card (when I don't even have one) to it in order to make a payment when it is already linked to my bank account?

I am not a member of ebay, nor do i have a paypal account, but when i went to but something (buy it now) it said 'buy as a guest' for both, but now i do not know if i have actually bought the item or not, as i have had no confirmation, and i am worried ive lost money...

i've herd when your using pay-pal for the first time you can only make about 10 transactions? thats all then you have to try to switch to premium or soemthing like that

Hmm, Ebay? CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!
In all fairness, I have picked up a few items that were worthy. But, on the other side of the dead carp I have recieved some seriously stinko crap. Your radiation insulated gloves are very few! First before you spend any time and money be aware if not wary of your openent in the contest of the sale. Examine their profile. Have they completed more than twenty transactions? How many of those transactions were comented as positive or negative? If there are a high number of negatives? Look at the comments. It could well be some loony with nothing better to do or another seller out to damage the competition. Or, indeed several different injured clients. If you completed a mutualy benificial transaction do not be a troll, comment positive for the seller you patronised. Flip side, if the transaction was lame, comment the details. Keep the seething disgust and boiling vulgarity out of it just the basis of the congame they are "perpin" on people.
The simple details of the con makes it easier to deduce if they were truly removed or just changed the name on their door and are in "business as usual". Keep in mind 20 lame $30.00 deals a week is still $600.00 a week for some chissler.
Your other direction to look is at who is outbidding whom. If your item is being hammered up over retail by a bidder or pair of bidders that have not "bought" anything, walk away!
To be honest, I have not seen any common items on eBay that could not be had for less from a "legit" retailer (online and bricks and mortar included). In a real auction you have the option of looking across the room at your bidding competition and deciding if it is another person off the street or a "shill" driving up the prices for whatever nefarious reason and evaporating once it has hit retail and the great beyond.

I dont use paypal, I hardly even know what it is. If the only way to pay on ebay is via paypal then I can not buy anything since Serbia (where I'm from) is not eligible for paypal. So is there a solution? The seller sent me an invoice for a certain item but there's no data on how to perform the purchase. Help please!
