How to add Thumbnail pics

Well I get asked this often (including tonight) so here is my overdue tutorial on how to do a thumbnail.  First you need to know how to add a pic on GUG.  If you don't them please check out this thread first:  How to add Pictures, Videos & Hyperlinks

OK so what is the difference between a thumbnail and a regular picture on GUG?  Well here is a thumbnail:

  <-- On thumbnails when you click on them they go to the full size pic.  This is great to use when you don't have the room for the full size picture or reducing the picture will distort it or not let you see the image as it needs to be seen.

So how did I do that?  Well I'm going to use photobucket as a example.  First find the pic you want - find the thumbnail.  Once you find the thumbnail you need to RIGHT click on it to see the properties.  Click on the properties so that you see the location:

once you see the location then you need to copy it.  That is the URL you will use for the picture.  Now you need to add that picture just like you would any picture on gug but use that URL.  Once you add the pic to the thread or comment then you need to highlight it like you would do to hyperlink any text.  Once its highlighted then you do just that, you hyperlink the pic to the full size pic. 

So Highlight the picture and click on the pic of the world with the closed chain (see above).  Once you click on the hyperlink world with chain you will get a pop up.

That is where you paste in the URL for the full size pic.  What is the URL for the full size pic.?  Well in photobucket its the second choice from the top the "Direct Link" option.

Once you copy that "Direct Link" URL you will need to paste that into the "URL" in the hyperlink box.  Now you have hyperlinked the small thumbnail to the full size image like I did at the very top of this thread.
