I accepted a friend request from a random person who is not a GUGer. She immediately started asking me questions about myself & before I could reply back to her she had left me a profile comment sayin the exact same thing she said in email then left me a picture comment. I told her I was suspicious of her behavior, but what I didnt tell her is that I think she left me comments in both my profile & pictures immeditaley after being accepted because she probably put a tracker in both of them. I dont know why she would put a tracker in both places, I dont even know if she did, but for some reason that was the first thought that came to mind. A very strong gut feeling. Is there a way to physically see if she put a tracker in my profile/picture comments? If so, Im assuming the only way to get rid of it is by deleting all her comments, not allowing them in the first place and/or deleting her?
I should also mention that the day before this I accepted another request from a random girl who was not a GUGer but when I asked her where did she see my URL she listed 3 people that she went through before she got to me & that last person was a GUGer on my friendlist. I asked the GUGer if she knew this girl, she said no she's a random add. This random girl has been viewing my profile & my friends profiles constantly to read our comments & I told her I have a tracker & have seen how often she does this & she admitted she did. I assumed these 2 random girls perhaps know eachother or are the same person because the timing is too coincidental. They both asked me an extreme amount of questions & once this girl finds out I have a tracker, the girl above starts leavin me comments everywhere. I could be wrong about this whole thing, but I thought I'd add this in so u can see the "why" of why they or she might want to put trackers on me, because I busted her with my own tracker.

Bottlebob:
I right clicked & selected properties on the "myspace tracker" link & this came up...
http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnByb2ZpbGVzbml0Y2guY29t
and a similar one came up on this persons friends profile...
http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm15c3BhY2UuY29t
and
http://www.msplinks.com/
So even though the links to all these URLs said myspace tracker, they're no longer working? If so, does that mean the tracker has something wrong with it or did the owners of these profiles alter them someway or removed them but not completely?
Aivilo:
Thank u for tellin me that, I never clicked on that ever & its a good thing u said so cuz I found a link just like the ones above in a girls comment to me who is one of my targets! Even if its not working, still! But I could be wrong cuz the comment is a pic of a girls butt but she didnt write anything with it. I originally pasted the link here but when i previewed it the butt pic showed up so Im gonna separate the link with a space & u can imagine it together, dont think GUG would like a butt pic posted in their forums lol Here's the link, tell if me its "trackerish"...
href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vcGhvdG9idWNrZXQuY29t" target="_blank">
GUG cut out a few of the letters from the front of each line, idk why. If thats a tracker along with the butt pic, then I was wrong about who I thought was doin it...SON OF A BISCUIT!!
Yeah, it's just a filtered tracker. Don't know which one but it doesn't work anyway.
Ok I dont remember where I saw the directions for what u do when u find a new tracker to report so that its added to the update list, anyone mind tellin me? cuz I think I found one. I looked at this girls public profile & I clicked the ABP stop sign icon & there was NO red URLs but the very last URL was "http://../tracker7/T2T2K200H3.gif" I did also see a small link that said "myspace tracker" but didnt specify which one it was. So what do I do, what do I do? Im so excited, I think I busted someone LOL
Any url that has several periods instead of the domain has been filtered by myspace. That means it doesn't work anymore. What does the "small link" link to? (right-click on the link and select "properties")
you can post it in a comment here How to block a tracker and bottlebob and others will take a look at it
I dont know if someone mentioned this already but go to edit profile in your myspace. Click on the comments tab...you will be able to see all the html comment by comment...if there is a tracker, it will show up and you will know exactly who put it there.
Sugarfly:
Like JP said, they do it to see who's looking at u. Lets say Im on ur friendlist & so is my ex-boyfriend. I leave u a comment that has a tracker in it. Why did I do that? Because I already know what my ex's IP is & I wanna see if he looks at u & if so how often.
Everyone else:
Thanks for the steps of how to check. I did it, but I didnt see any red URL's so thats good & I looked carefully at each URL in black for anything suspicious but didnt find anything of that nature. Maybe she was just a crazy girl who likes to leave comments to strangers in order to get them to leave her some. Although Im still undecided if I should go ahead & delete her & the other girl from my friendlist. Also, thank you to whoever moved my topic in this open section. I didnt realize I posted it in the codes forum lol Im so addicted to that section.
I'm obviously really new to this, but why would someone put a tracker in a comment? I have Trackspace to see who views my profile, but why in a message or comment? Myspace lets you know if it was read or not, so why a tracker?
Thanks!
someone may want to see who is viewing someone else's profile - a jealous ex or a spouse or gf/bf who thinks someone may be cheating on them or a parent checking up on a child for instance. also, i haven't checked recently but i know that a while back myspace stopped putting comments pending approval in the Sent mailbox of the sender. so if that's still the case, you wouldn't know if the person read your comment unless they approved it. people may use a tracker to see when they read it and this would also apply to comments that don't need approval to know when the person first saw it.
Thanks!
You could always err on the side of caution and delete the comments.
