Is there a proxy I should be using through Firefox or something I should be doing in addition to using adblock to better hide my IP address?
Hiding my IP
Our list will keep you from being tracked by any trackers that are on it (listed). Are there other trackers out there - yeah I'm sure there are. We update the list as we find new ones. Also some create their own private trackers which is easy to do. If your ultra worried use a proxy. Also make sure you keep your filter list current and updated or you can add it to your subscriptions on adblock (that is what I do).

Well when I say tracker really its via access logs they have on a site they host. If you host a site you can generally get access logs to it. So if you hosted like a image you could put it on your profile and then get the access logs to it. The image could be anything. Again to do this you have to host your own site.

No, the average person does not do this. In fact, Id say only a very, very small percentage of people do. Liek smartmom said, if you are really worried, you should use a proxy, but if you are just the 'average' amount of worried, using Firefox with AdBlock Plus should suffice.
you can get a 30 day free trial of ninja surf. i like that one. i'm usually from sweden, which is awesome, just because.
it'll give you a random isp and some random foreign country. it does slow you down though, just like any proxy. sometimes, myspace will come up in whatever language because it detects you are from another country, but you can just change it back.

The only thing is this won't work with some websites. Your internet experience will be a bit slower as well.
