Hideinthesky freakout!!!
Submitted by Tkanenigga on April 18, 2008 - 8:13pm.
I'm having a minor freakout after using hideinthesky and myscrapespace...I tried it on my own page, and my page hits went up in a number that was unproportional to the number of times I clicked a command on HITS (typing in my user name, clicking "grab info", "get blogs," etc.) I was using it to check a friend's page and clicked EVERY command more than once... My question is: I see that ppl. say it can't be traced back to you, but is there any circumstance in which it could? I didn't really understand the FAQ and am freaking out a bit. Would it matter if the person had Firefox or some other program? AOL? A certain myspace tracker? Is there any way the person can tell it was ME looking at her page from HITS??? Thanks, I'm a bit computer illiterate... Re: Hideinthesky freakout!!!

OMG! i jus used highinthesky on myself and it pulled up everything!
isn't it a great program/site? i ran your profile through it. i do everyone's really. were you able to pick me up w/your tracker? and did you notice your hit count increase? i like it nearly better than myspace itself!

Deep breaths. No, they CANNOT trace it back to you, not even if they have Firefox, or AOL, or anything else. As for the hit count, that's normal when you use HITS, it always increases the page views by 5 or more, sometimes a LOT more.
