Hide in the sky how does it work?

Hello

I just found out about that website hideinthesky and I have 2 questions I hope someone can answer.

1. When you enter their friend ID to get their profile information, if they have a tracker can it be tracked back to your computer that you were getting their information? Or will they see more when they are trying to see why their profile views went up?

2. I do not understand what trackers that website is able to find and what it is not. I grabbed someone's information that was from a private profile and it said they do not have a tracker. Would it find it if it was in their headline? That is the only tracker a private file can have on the outside right?

I've used the hideinthesky stuff before, and it gave me some helpful information.  However I prefer, and I'm pretty sure some other members of GuG will agree w/ me, Myspace Mozilla.  Using that program actually allows you to scan any myspace profile and it will identify a tracker if that profile has one on it.  Keep in mind that it can't identify how many trackers a profile has, only catches the first one, but it usually most profiles I scan have the trackspace profile and it says that.  It's pretty much trial and error w/ all the programs out there that does that stuff....hope this helps a little.

 I'm using MySpace Mozilla, and it's cool, but it doesn't pick up everyone's trackers.  I know for a fact that 2 of my friends use creatblog, and hideinthesky will find them, but MySpace Mozilla hasn't picked them up yet.  It's picked up the other people on my profile with trackers, but not the 2 that use creatblog.

 If you are only using MySpace Mozilla for trackers than you are better off using hideinthesky, it shows all trackers it finds which is great for adding trackers to your adblock list

I was under the impression that hideinthesky was using our tracker list. I may be wrong. Anyway, you can edit the text file that myspacemozilla uses and add trackers to scan for. I haven't used it in a while so i don't know if it still only shows the first tracker it comes across .

1. No, it will increase their profile views but the trackers don't register it.

2. It can't look inside private profiles so yes, only the ones that are in headlines.

Thanks so very much. Both of those things are great news. So I can look from that hideinthesky as much as I want to see when they logged in and what their headline is and it won't matter they cannot trace it back to me. Also that is good to know that if they don't have a tracker picked up when the profile is private that means it is NOT in their headline right?

As long as all you do is use some of the grabber scripts on Hideinthesky, you will NOT be tracked. Look as much as you like! The scripts he uses on HITS can only scan public information, so the answer is that they do NOT have a tracker in their headline if HITS doesnt show you one.

And, I noticed someone else mentioned that they thought HITS uses the blocker list from this site, and thats not entirely true. Someone else made a block list that HITS uses and it incorporates both the list from GuG and from profiletracker.us' forums.

Don't forget, HITS has new scripts added on a regular basis, such as a new Blog grabber, Picture grabber that can grab private pictures hidden on PUBLIC profiles, and a new friends list grabber that grabs the first page of friends (public profiles only)

Thanks for the great reply. I was wondering though what do you mean as long as all you do is use some of the grabber scripts you will not be tracked. What else could I do besides that? Please tell me what I should make sure I do NOT do so it cannot be traced back to me AT ALL. Thanks a lot for your help!

My scripts let you click links that will take you to different parts of the person's profile.

If you stay on hideinthesky.com/ms, you should have no problem about being tracked. I have tried to make the scripts so that they display information without actually loading any tracker code.

If you have any questions, you should always check out the FAQ first... Someone probably already asked the question you asked anyway.

No. Unless the tracker is somehow on that profile's comments, then none of my scripts will load the trackers. I have actually changed my "Grab Info" script to show you the code if there's any tracker on the headline of the person's profile.
