(using msn)
AppName: msn.exe
AppVer: 9.50.39.1900
ModName: jscript.dll
ModVer: 5.6.0.8513
Offset: 0000967d

(using ie)
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 7.0.6000.16640
ModName: jscript.dll
ModVer: 5.6.0.8513
Offset: 0000967d

Hello and thank you in advance for your time and help. I'm trying to use Google Checkout in order to process the gug fee ($24.99), upon check-out, the screen changes over and is shut down which prevents me from clicking the purchase. I've tried it several times and each time ie or msn is shut down. Any ideas as to what's wrong? I'm signed into Google, credit card info is all good, I want to continue with my gug premium membership without any delays. Thanks again, hope to hear from you soon. Firefox.

Are you running Norton on your computer? Which operating system?

Re: Can't use Google Checkout for Premium Membership

hi almostevil,

thank you for asking. i'm using windows xp home edition with norton personal firewall and norton antivirus. i uninstalled and reinstalled java. when i tried to uninstall java i rcvd an error message so i used windows installer cleanup utility tool to remove the entry - that worked, so i reinstalled and verified that my java is now working. i've ensured that the settings are correct in the java control panel, ie internet options, managed add-ons and norton. the process of elimnation is tedious. :-s

right now, i'm going to attempt another google checkout in order to see if i can renew/subscribe my premium membership. keeping my fingers crossed. Firefox

Re: Can't use Google Checkout for Premium Membership

If you dont get it to work this time, please post here. I may have a solution for you in regards to jscript.dll and norton not playing nicely together!

Try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=870700#9

And this:

Disable all third party Add-ons

1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click Tools to select Manage Add-ons.
3) Disable all third party Add-ons.

Re: Can't use GoogleCheckout for Premium Membership

that error looks like there might be a problem with your JAVA.. try going to java.com and make sure you are using the most current version of java.

if that doesn't work you might try it with Firefox .

Re: Google Checkout jscript.dll error

hello hubby,
uninstalling and reinstalling java did not resolve the issue.
i wonder if a fix might be to (re-)register the .dll file (jscript.dll)?
any ideas about that or am i in left field? btw-this is the very first time i've ever had an issue like this with java or google. when google still had their videos to purchase, i bought one and the checkout process worked fine. needle in a haystack, ugh.
thanks again for your time and help. Firefox.

Re: Google Checkout jscript.dll error

Re: Google Checkout jscript.dll error

hello hubby,

i recall re-registering .dll files with dell tech support once, a long time ago (for what issue i cant recall) - but i'll try that next. again, thanks for the time and help, it's greatly appreciated. Firefox.

ps. i suppose i might be able to transfer funds to continue with my premium membership some other way if that option is avaiable?

Re: Google Checkout jscript.dll error

thanks for the speedy reply. it is much appreciated.
i tried clearing the cache first,
then checked to make sure java was updated.
still no luck.
i googled "google checkout shuts down" and found this in one of their forums: Google Checkout Developers Forum
ugh. i'll keep searching until i figure it out.
any additional help or suggestions are welcomed, appreciated and will be implemented.
Firefox.
