power supply units...
Right now i'm building a "super PC". I need to know what size power supply I should use without breaking the bank. My main power users are an Intel D975xbx motherboard, intel core 2 extreme, geforce 8800 video card, seagate barracuda 850mb hd, sound blaster x-fi, 1 blueray drive, and a few other accesorys like a network card, usb card & some fans. I might add some more. I was thinking of going with a 500w unit, but might have to go higher. What do ya'll suggest?   thanks

Re: power supply units...
yea i would for sure go with the 750W power supply and make sure you're getting plenty of air through your machine.
Re: power supply units...
I'd recommend looking at the 750W Silencer Power Supply... supposed to run cold and quite (though.... I'd bet it still has a thermostat.... I personally hotwire around as many of the theromstats as I can in my computers and make the fans run non-stop... but whatever... )
Re: power supply units...
Okay. Thank you for the suggestion.

500W would be the min for a high end system, you should be looking at something with dual or even quad rails try the silverstone strider 750W if you have it in your budget, you can find them for around 150 and its worth the investment
