FULL (1st & Last) Names showing on ALL profiles!
Anyone know what's going on with this?? It is on ALL profiles, public & private... I changed mine to something bogus for now, but it's nice to have people you're actually hoping to reconnect with be able to contact you..... ????? |

For those of us who missed this, has anyone tried searching for a cached page? Think it would work? I know, I know - one in a million probably. But you might get lucky!
I was using one of those "people finder" sites where you can look up people or emails and find all the websites they have, and on one myspace profile it advertised the person's full real name, and they have it hidden for sure
PT showed a full name -- coincidence?
in other news my tracker has been weird not showing profile main pic and putting <br/> in the name but showing everything else like normal
except like i said for one it showed myspace name then full name with some <br/>'s thrown in there. but that was no fun, already someone i knew!
hope makes sense my brain's fried today. gotta go!

Myspace added some new code in that area of the page, so my guess is your tracker was parsing some info from that same area, so it got fudged up.
I have PT (profiletracker) and I did not get the full name shown - only the headline. But thats ok I got there full name (screens shot and all).
Not getting the main pic on what your PT track? If so I have had no issues. If its from PT then I would ask in there forums.
The full name showed all morning but its no longer showing. BTW Go smartmom...

I guess I missed it!! I wanna find out my stalker's name!! It will make it a lot easier to know who he/she is!!
I think it was a glitch, b/c I just checked it a couple of times just now, and it is no longer showing the names.

I'm wondering if Myspace is doing this to copy Facebook, since Facebook shows real names, and myspace has been playing catch up for a while now.

Yeah I see it on EVERY profile - yeah this is NICE! If you can't see it do style "no Style" and it is right above there default pic. Its on EVERY profile even if you have the fancy ~ (characters) in front of it.
Oh very nice! Mine has never had my last name - I have it as "Debbie Smartmom" however my kids does. There is now changed to - to a funny one (not posting for their security). Way to go myspace. It may be corrected now but geez - they could screw up again.....stupid!

Still was showing for me. Neat, I knew my targets registered under fake names, I had no idea what they were... ha ha.

i do think it's ridiculous and i can't imagine why it happened, much less HOW? especially on the PRIVATE profiles...
I agree, thats a HUGE blooper on their part! Wonder what Tom will have to say about that.
I noticed this too. It started within abotu an hour or so. In the nae area of your settings it even still says it's "private" and only viewable in searches. I have a feeling it won't float too well with people. Especially parents who worked so hard to make sure thier underage daughters profiles and pics were well hidden from the %1 of predators on there.
Who needs to see more pics of them than thier default, when all ya need to do is look their name up in the phone book for their address? lol

It is 11:24 a.m. EST and it is showing full first and last names. I noticed that and thought maybe it was a revealed tracker code.
I checked some of my friends and it really is their full first and last name.
That is SO messed up. I think profiles that use symbols dont show up at all. But names or initials will.
It all looks normal to me. WHere are you seeing the full names?

Mine is still showing.
Full names just started showing on mine. Thankfully, I never had my last name on there.
They have a new checkbox that says "Show my full name whenever my name and photo appear on MySpace"
This is def. a HUGE coding error. I cant think myspace would do this without warning people.

This looks fixed. That box has now disappeared and you cant see full names anymore.
damn!! i wanted to know names of creepy stalkers soooo bad! argh! we should have like GuG text alerts LOL! GRR! been trying to find out real friend ID PT can't figure it out forever now. bugger!! oh well!!
