hello to everyone, my name is julie. i live in Rhode Island, (it's a state), lol, no, you'd be surprised how many people don't know that. i love the ocean, nature, and GuGs. i've been married going on 30 years, and believe it or not, i still love him, too. welcome to everyone. juliek p.s. i am very illiterate on the computer, but i try to learn more every day.   Re: Making New Friends

Hi! I am an avid stock market fan... some would call me a "day trader," but I call myself "invested by day, and cash by night!" I enjoy laughing more than "almost" anything. I truly believe that laughter enriches the soul. I also enjoy my new hobby of snow skiing, except I don't really know how, but I have a blast trying. I am not quite certain how I found my way here, but I am certainly glad that I did. I have this habit of researching online for, say a kind of fish... then end up reading how to clean stubborn stains from ceramic, or some other off the wall topic. My new husband looks at me like I am nuts when I mention something I am researching, as he too wonders how I wander off to only goodness knows where. Well, it has paid off, because I ended up here and I am discovering awesome people with awesome knowledge.   Re: Making New Friends

Hi Maria, welcome to GuG!! I don't really know how I got here either, but I'm glad I did! And I can understand going off on "internet tangents" because it happens to me all the time. The stock market, huh? Have any tips? I am horrible at following the stock market.   Re: Making New Friends

Hello I'm computer illiterate and I rather learn from this site with all the 'tricks' and 'hacks' rather than get bored in some class which I definitely have no time to take. I love to cook and bake, can only sing in the shower and right now have this obsession with Wonder Woman (childhoood hero-with all the underoos to prove it as well as my homemade 'truth lasso' which is just my jump rope). Can't wait for someone to remake this along with all the other comic book turn movie deals. I'm betting on Angelina Jolie or Alyssa Milano as Diana...anyone got someone else in mind???? My name is Josh. Was in the army, out now working on computers. I like Gug cause I can come here with work questions, or ideas from work. Some of the best "hackers" in the world work in teams. nobody knows everything, but if every one in a group knows somethign different, you can get alot closer, lol. I found this sight looking for photobucket help, and have stuck around. I am no computer guru, but like helping how I can, and am glad I have peopel to help me. Oh and the most annoying thing in the world is people that just try and get soemthign for nothing... It's cool if people need codes and help... but at least offer soemthing out to others. GuG is good at weeding those people out.   Re: Making New Friends

Hi, I'm Sabrina. I'm a stay-at-home mom and college student majoring in web design/development and minoring in computer networking. I really don't remember how I ended up here, but I started reading the forums and thought I'd join and learn a thing or two. I really like that everyone here seems friendly, it's a nice break from all the flame wars you usually see in forums.   Re: Making New Friends

Well, I'm in and out, but I figured I'd say hello here. I joined so I could learn myspace hacks. I hate my coworkers, but their sad lives make for interesting time wasting fodder. But this place seems pretty cool and interesting so I like to read up in the other forums too. I'll be joining the workforce (hopefully soon) since I'll be getting my MS this May. I'm still not sure about my career path. Anyone know about jobs where you can just sit, look pretty, and get paid? Or is that a myth realized only by those that do some serious brown nosing? Really, I'm not as cynical as I sound. I enjoy learning new things, I love science and reading just about anything. I'm from TX and hopefully I'll be able to stay in my home state, my wanderlust seems to have left me. So hello hello everyone. ~Noli nothis permitere te terere~   Re: Making New Friends

Welcome! Good luck on your venture. I'm sure something will come to mind when the time is right. As for sitting around and looking pretty, I once told my daughter that she wasn't ever going to find a job like that and then one day she did. She stood outside a building in San Francisco passing out free hot dog coupons for people to get them to go inside to look at an exhibit and she got paid $30 an hour!! Hi everyone. I starting visiting GuG a few months ago to look for a myspace tracker. I found a lot of other useful information here, as well, so I stayed. I'm a full time student and spend my time either in the classroom or here at my desk at home. When I'm sick of homework I login to read the posts and learn stuff. Lately, I've been posting more and emailing those that have similar interests as me. Hi Everyone, My name is Julie. I live in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the union.I love it here, the beaches are just awesome, and seeing the ocean everyday is something that keeps my soul sustained during the more difficult days. Thankfully, GuG has also given me much consolation since i have become pretty much house bound. I have cor pulmonale, also known as right sided heart failure, so i'm kinds like a fish outta water, gasping for air. I have some other health problems, but hey, we all have our crosses to bear and I have found one of the truest things in this life is that there is always someone in a less fortunate situation. Oh, and for Defiant truth, i feel as tho i am making true friendships, here. try it, you'll like it! As far as my family, I have 2 gorgeous daughters, both are artists. the older is a tattoo artist, and has developed quite a following. My 2nd daughter is still finding her niche, and she is very talented as well. I don't know where they get it.from because i can't draw to save my life. I also have a son. He is handsome and funny and he is autistic. I wouldn't take Tom any differently than he is. He lights up the room, wherreever he is. Lastly, but of course not leastly{?}, is my husband.he is a seetie pie, if ever there was one. I could tell you guys so much more, but i'm sure you've had enough of this. yeah, i could tell you how much i love animals and nature, how worried i am about the fate of our planet, how i always wanted to be a rock and roll mama, yeah, i could, but... Hi everybody. I'm Samantha and I'm from Chicago. Love the city. There so much to do especially in the summer just hate the cold. I'm currently in school and I hope to move some where warm after I complete my degree. I came upon this site after trying to find somebody's email address. No luck but I did find this site. I love coming on here. I log onto here more than myspace!!!! I have 3 little rugrats!! They are 4, 2, and 9 months. Well my 9 month old is an angel but it's still to early to determine. lol They are the reason I get up every morning and accomplish everything I have accomplished. I've worked with computers for a while then stopped completely and just recently started working with them again. I'd really like to learn everything there is to know so I'm pretty much starting from the beginning. I'm willing to help anybody that I can in anything I know about. So that's a little about me and I can't wait to meet everybody!!   Re: Making New Friends

I first came to this site hoping to find some info. to help me with a myspace nussance however it has been a while since I have had time for this stuff . I find that things have really changed. Its seems like there are some cool people on here but alot of wanabe hackers and majority of what some call hacking isn't true hacking so I don't really get it. Hiya fellow GuGs! My name is Aida (friends call me Idee), I live on Florida's east coast, on a barrier island. As a fifth generation Floridian, I've survived more hurricanes than I can count on both of my hands! Together with my fiancee, we have an amusing blended family: my 17 y/o son and my 13 y/o bonus son! We surf, scuba, cycle, camp, and any activity we can do out-of-doors, we'll do it! Currently I work on contract for the Dept of Defense's Nuclear Treaty Monitoring Directorate as a requirements manager, and have a background in legal documentation. My computer skills are adequate: MCSE candidate, MS Office suite power user, strong in Adobe Framemaker and Telelogic DOORS applications. Typically I cruise the forums looking to help folks with home networking, MS Word, MS Access, and MS Excel, and I know a bit about myspace - having a rather entertaining profile. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding networking, documentation, legal paperwork, blended families, and Florida outdoors. I'm a firm believer in quick replies. I've enjoyed reading everyone's entries! We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit. -Aristotle   Re: Making New Friends

I'm Erin, I came in looking for a good tracker one day and signed up. I'm a wanna be geek... i have two small children, work full time and not enough time to learn, I took a few LAN classes a few years ago, I didn't test for the certifications because I just pretty much lost interest (mainly because of the time factor). I really enjoy web design and know a little bit and hopefully I can go back to school for that some day   Re: Making New Friends

Congratulations! First time grandma. Me too! My daughter is due tomorrow! Just came from her house and made her sit down and make a list of things she might need. She couldn't think of anything, so I said, Imagine you are at the hospital and you've had your baby and you are sitting in the bed, wishing you had......................... She thought of a nail file, new underwear. I already got her a new robe. Imagine you are home from the hospital and hubby is at work and you are sitting there wishing you had................................. Imagine you are home, and baby is sleeping and you don't want to clean or watch T.V., what would you like to fill your spare time (besides sleep)...................... (she picked cross stitch so I'm picking those up tomorrow) and on and on. She was able to think of some things this way. I just spent about $300.00 on food for them. And hopefully I'll grab some extra time to make up some meals, freeze them and take them over for when she gets home from the hospital. My mom did this for me and it was wonderful, since I had C-sections. There are just so many things to do to help your child out with having their first baby. Maybe we need a "Beginners Grandparents Forum" lol. LynnH
