I cannot figure out for the life of me how to use my laptop in conjunction with my PC. I have the router and can connect to the internet just fine in the other room but how in the world do I get to share folders, printer and the like? It's so confusing! I asked an idiot at the store who told me all I needed was the router but no matter how many times I told him I didn't know what to do to get the two connected via the router he just couldn't figure out what it was I was asking. I know I'm not stupid... help?

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been way too busy these days to work this out right now but I plan on getting back to it soon.

Thanks Ashton. I am still having problems. I can get it all to show up on my laptop but my PC won't allow access or some stupid thing and so won't "communicate" with the laptop.
*sigh*
I'm too irritable for this right now. I'll get back to it another time...
Thanks again!

Wireless LAN's are tricky stuff...I was just hoping it would just be that easy. Things to consider. Is the computer (PC) on the network either through a wireless NIC or directly plugged into the router?
Are both computers seeing the workgroup?
Have you tried mapping on both computers?
Are you still trying a Ad Hoc connection (peer to peer) or infrastructure?
Have you tried disabling the firewall (router and computer - one at a time) just to test?
Are the addresses given, through DHCP or statically assigned?
Good luck;-) Feel free to email the answers, it may be until tomorrow till I can check it.

Right click My Computer
Click Properties
Click Computer name
Make sure both computers are assigned to a workgroup..name it mizwingzz or something.
Restart if necessary (probably)
Choose a folder to share by right clicking and selecting Sharing and Security
Make sure the check box isn't checked that says "Make this Folder Private"
Go back to right click on My Computer
Click Map Network Drive
Click Browse
Under workgroup, both computer names should be there.
See if the folder is available.
Any other problems could be firewall related.
Hope it helps.
