Floola and iTunes

Floola and iTunes

My crazy ex loaded some Floola thing on my computer. Now I cant download things directly to my Ipod. Ihave to go through Floola. I am about to get an Iphone and wont be able to put things directly on my phone through ITunes b/c of this Floola thing. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of Floola and keep stuff on Itunes and still make it work so that thing can be put directly on ITunes and Ipod without losing data/music?

Very Important-I dont want to lose all my old music! Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

Re: Floola and iTunes

I use Floola and I too was locked out of iTunes. No matter how many times I clicked on the icon iTunes wouldn't open. Finally I opened Windows Task Manager. I clicked on Processes and chose to end itunes.exe and then clicked on the iTunes icon and it opened on up.

Re: Floola and iTunes

i'm not sure if you use a MAC or PC. however, here are the directions right from the Floola site:

Uninstall

Some preferences, backups and external items are stored on iPod, to remove them start Floola and go to Tools->Advanced->Uninstall Floola. Then just delete the executable.

To manually remove preferences, backups and external items without starting the application delete the Floola folder under iPod_Control (a hidden folder) in your iPod.

OK-I am really frustrated w/ this Floola thing. I may fly across  country and injure my ex-hehe! I did the tools-advanced-uninstall thing. Can not find it in control panel to totally delete from computer. Can not find hgidden file in ipod nano.

Now the itunes will not sync to ipod. ANyone have any other suggestions as to how to get rid of this thing??? I need help-I have been researcing ad can't figure it out.

Re: Floola and iTunes

Floola might not be on the iPod. It was designed to be capable of running off iPods but it doesn't have to. Make sure your iPod is in disk mode.  Once in disk mode connect it to your computer. A window should open with several folders. If Floola is not in the root of your iPod just look through each folder. If your iPod Controls folder is hidden do this:

1. Open any folder in Explorer.

2. Choose "Tools" then "Folder Options".

3. When the multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab.

4. Select "Show hidden files and folders".

5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

If Floola is only on your computer just delete it. Floola is an executable file so you don't install it.

here is the floola link i found earlier.  the only thing that comes to mind to be a sure fix is to simply "restore" the iPod. sure it will create a little work for you in having to reload your tunes, but it is a sure thing!
