moxilla firefox wont start up

moxilla firefox wont start up

hi,
my moxilla firefox wont start up when i click on it form my start menu. when i try to download a new version it gives me a corrupt file message saying its unable to download.
i am also unable to free up memory space on my drive a message pops up as well saying something is corrupt. I have ran various spyware checks and i am currently running a full service scan with windows live onecare saftey scanner but it says its going to take several hours to finish the scan (its been two already, and i have high speed)
id appreciate it if anyone has any knowledge on how i go about correct these problems!

Have you tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it?

 Firefox can get tweaky sometimes. When it won't start from its regular spot, it will sometimes start elsewhere-quicklaunch button, desktop icon, from the firefox.exe in mozilla folder in c:\program files. If it will work from one of the other locations, then usually a restart of the pc will restore full functionality to all the other startup icons.

Sometimes firefox never truly shuts down and then it wont restart when you try to start it. Check in processes to see if it's actually still running, and if it is kill it from there. It should start up normally after that.

Lastly, if none of the above works, try starting it in safe mode (which loads Firefox w/o all your addons). If that works, then it's likely one of your addons that's screwing it up. If that's the case you have to disable them all, then add them back in one by one until you find the culprit. (start first adding in ones that haven't been updated in a long time, as it's most likely one of those).

hi guys,
thanks so much for th reply....i think ur right about my add-ons/extensions because i ran firefox.exe -safe-mode and i was able to open firefox so i disabled my add ons which was only google toolbar and im uninstalling it right now. thanks so much you have been really helpful!
