Firefox rules and filters

I just need some guidance here. I tried the help option on Firefox but cant find my answer so i'm hoping i can get it here. I set up filters to block trackers using instructions i found on GUG. But i'm confused about what it all means. Under "exceptional rule" i have mozilla.org. do i want that there? I just need a clear understanding on how to use the filter option to its fullest. Thanks
