Download an older version (I mentioned this in another post here)
Also go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.12/releasenotes/
and scroll down to 'Known Issues' see if there's anything useful there that explains why the update has made it crash.

Where are my La-La's at?!
After the most recent upddate, my Firefox crashed and will not open again. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling. Any other suggestions?
FIXED IT! I went to hits and clicked on the "Download Firefox with Google Toolbar" I'm not sure what it did, but it is back up and running. THANK YOU!
Ok, guys, found the old version, and we're backup and running! Thanks to everyone for the help!
I had the same problem when updated to 2.0.0.8 then went to site and 2.0.0.9 the day it was released and everything worked fine.
I also know that some people who had issues used this to fix their issues

Just another post clarifying that uninstalling your Firefox browser does not completely uninstall your profile. If anyone has issues in the future, it's most likely that your profile folder is corrupted and it's probably easier to create a new one form the link I provided in a previous post.

You can remove Firefox 2 through the Control Panel in the Start Menu on Windows, by removing the Firefox application on OS X, or by removing the firefox folder on Linux.
Removing Firefox 2 won't remove your bookmarks, web browsing history, extensions or other add-ons. This data is stored in your profile folder, which is located in one of the following locations depending on your operating system:
Any version of Firefox that you install after removing Firefox 2 will continue to use the data from this profile folder.

Ok, just read all your advice and printed it all. Got caught up last night and was unable to try anything. Tonight's the night, I go hunting! I already scanned with my ad- aware, S&D, etc. Nothing.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thats very strange because I have heard about crashes and stuff but not being able to reinstall Firefox is new for me.
I think you should go step by step, in your situation I would first run a few anti-spyware and antivirus programs. For example:
1 - Ad-Aware 2007 (the Free version will do its work perfect)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
2 - Spy Bot Search and Destroy (freeware)
http://www.safer-networking.org
3 - Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0 (the King of kings in the antivirus realm, available in Emuleshop™)
I can tell you that has been the "holy trinity" of my computer defense for years and no virus or malware has ever been able to breach it.
Remember to update Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot, also be warned to don't use both programs at the same time or they will give you fake errors, it is, first scan with Ad-Aware and when its finished use Spy-Bot.
You can check if Firefox is already uninstalled going to:
START -> Control Panel -> Add-Remove Programs
and cheking the list of programs there.
This is just a starter idea, when virus and malware are discarded we can find another steps to follow.
I installed Firefox on my mother's computer a while back... and when she updated, it completely screwed up... would crash and eventually wouldn't work at all... I uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice... and same issues... eventually, I had to search for the version she had before she updated and just install that one, and not update it... Basically because if I actually try to work on her computer, if anything in the future goes wrong, it's my fault... no matter if she downloaded viruses or not... it's automatically my fault... but that's another story. (this is why I refuse to 'help' people in person) ... and since I did that, it's worked fine.
What I'm trying to say is, that if after all the advice here, if it still doesn't work... you can always try finding the previous version, completely uninstalling, and installing the older one...
But that's just a lazy person's opinion... if it's not because of an update you did, this idea might not be of any help.
