FF shutting down, sending error message
i hope I'm posting this in the right place.... FireFox has been shutting down on me fairly frequently, lately. I'm not really sure why. I don't really get an error message, just the "Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" with the option to send an error report. After the report is sent, I can click for more info. It tells me to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, but I'm pretty sure I have the most current version. I have Firefox set to update automatically, so theoretically, it should always be the most current version, right? Anyway, I just checked, and I have 2.0.0.1. It's doing this 2 or 3 times a day, if not more often. Thanks so much!

Have you tried upgrading your Java?

Hey Geek!!! I have been trying to install the 11 update since yesterday. None of the darn files I d/l will open! The cursor spins and nothing. I've tried getting them from alternate sites..no go. Tried d/l w/ Opera...nothing. I tried IE as well, but since I upgraded it to 7 all the darn thing does is hang up immediately--totally unusable. Any suggestions?

Didn't help
I reinstalled Firefox last night, and managed to go most of today without a problem, but now it's back to it's old tricks. Any suggestions?

This doesn't seem picky about what website I'm on when it decides to shut down, it's done it to me on reloads here, Amazon, etc....

Well I'm glad to see that someone else is having a similar issue. This has been plaguing me for days now. Thing is, it only happens on myspace. I'm fine on all other websites. And for me it's shutting down several times (like 10 or more) per hour. Every time I send a myspace mail it shuts down. At first I wasn't getting any kind of error message. Yesterday I did a system restore...no go. Then I reinstalled firefox and updated my extensions.....no go. But at least I get the error message now. But it's driving me absolutely nuts having to constantly restart firefox. And I refuse to use IE.

well, I'm still running 1.5.0.9; and that works fine.  But I'd recommend just re-running the install file, it should give you the options of 'repair' or 'remove'; chose repair and it should basicly reinstall without replacing any of your option's, bookmarks, history, cookies, etc.
