anyone else having this trouble with bookmarks in ff3b5?

if I add a bookmark it works ok and is added to the bookmarks menu. BUT if I close Firefox then open it again, the bookmark that I added has been removed. The same thing happens if I delete a bookmark and restart Firefox, the bookmark reappears.

also the 'sort by' feature isnt working.

i searched and posted in the Firefox forums but havent been able to find a solution. any takers? thanks in advance.

Re: Firefox Bookmarks

a mod at the Firefox build forum replied with the below.  unfortunately i already reverted back to the ff2 stable browser.  but perhaps it can be usefull to someone im just passing on the suggestion.

"Are you just clicking the star button in the address bar once? If so, those get put into the "Unfiled Bookmarks" folder that is at the bottom of the list if you are looking in the sidebar or in the new Places/Library window.

Or, you could have a corrupt bookmarks file. How did you go about setting up your profile for the beta? Overwrite your old Firefox 2 profile, or did you create a new profile?

Also, have you tried safe mode? What happens if you bookmark a site in safe mode? Does it stay when you restart into "normal use" mode?

Re: Firefox Bookmarks

*knock on wood* not yet. but i'm also a mac. are you a pc? and, keep in mind it is "beta" and while it is pretty fantastic as is, there are kinks to get worked out still. here is a link to the published known issues.  *i am a huge fan of ff3b5*.
