Hey, I was just wondering whether there was any way to track people who've searched for you or viewed your profile on facebook like on myspace? I was on Google and looked up a person I know...her facebook page was the first result on Google, so I clicked it. The next few days I did the same thing...well, today I did a Google search, and the facebook result for her name is completely gone! Maybe I'm missing something? Could she know I've been clicking her profile? (I don't have a facebook, so I don't know how they work at all...)

Thanks!

Re: Facebook trackers?

well i hodge-podged an Application together just to test if FB could indeed handle tracking code. I used the MixMap tracker image, which I placed into the application on my profile, and every time it says my location is Palo Alto, CA (I'm actually thousands of miles away from there), which is where I'm assuming the Facebook HQ are. Not sure if there's a way around that.

What the?  MySpace tells you who has searched for you?

I've learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I've usually made the right decision.

Re: Facebook trackers?

The reason why you were able to see the person's fb link on google, was most likely they had that searchable feature enabled for their profile.

However, on the privacy settings, it is now possible to turn off the feature for your profile to show up on Google or any search engine when someone searches your whole name.

Re: Facebook trackers?

Ok I'll be the first to admit I DO NOT have a facebook so I may be wayyyyyy off here.  But I do know that some myspace trackers can be added to other sites.  I was playing around with mixmap to see if I could change it over to BB-Coding and get it to work on another social site and it does work.  So you might want to try and play.

Again I may be way off here since I do not have a facebook but I thought hey you all should try atleast (if you haven't already).  Here is the step to turn mixmap into BB Coding (not sure if facebook uses that):

Gaia Online - tracker

If you get it to work let us know.  Or if its a def. no go let us know also.

Part of facebook's privacy policy is that you will never know who has been searching for you, who has been looking at your profile, or tell anyone details of who *you* are looking at. You also cannot alter the look of your facebook, so no ability to embed trackers either.
