Facebook - Messaging a Friend NOT on your friends list ???

Hello All,

Is there a way of sending a message to a friend on facebook if he/she is not on my friends' list and has the "send message" feature disabled so that no one can send any messages to him/her. Actually, for some reason all the features are disabled (i.e. poke, view friends and so on).

Any help is very much appreciated. This is a very old friend and I would like to get in touch after many yeaaaaaaaars.

I had the same situation where all of my friends links (adding, poking, etc) were not available. However, after a few attempts, somehow she was notified that I was trying to reach her, and she added me. I don't whether she has the option of being alerted when she is searched for or not, but just be patient. If all else fails, search all of your friends' friend lists and see if that person is their friend. If he has commented on a note or pic or such, and you comment after him, he'll be alerted about that.

That is exactly the problem. I wish I could add them. However, the option of adding them as a friend is not there as well. I think they have disabled it as part of their security settings. That is why it is so complex.

I hope the picture is clearer now.

Ah i see thats really an annoying situation!

I know its a long shot but do you know anyone that may be on their friends list? If so perhaps you could ask them to tell the person you want to say hi?

Other than that have you tried trying to find them on another site like myspace or bebo? It may be possible that they have different settings on there for you to get in to contact.

Thanks G1|| for all the help. Yeah, I have tried all that but none of it helped. That's why I was hoping that by having their ID, I would then be able to use that to send a message but this doesn't seem to be the case ... it really sucks ...

Why not try adding them? At the very least, they may be inspired to send you a message.

As far as I know there isn't a way and you'd have to ad them as a friend in order to get to be able to message them sorry.
