I am really confused Sad

What is GreaseMonkey and what will it do for me? I use Firefox and am more than a little bit dippy when it comes to the interweb and that.

Re: greasemonkey script for facebook

Greasemonkey's an addon that lets you do a lot of cool things essentially by dynamically rewritting the page.

The easiest way of getting them installed is to go to http://userscripts.org and do a search. Each script page will have an "install this script" button on the right hand side. Click that to install it .A box will come up with a description of it and what URLs it affects.Wait for the install button to count down then click install.

You should be able to see the script in action by loading up a facebook page. Or reloading one if you have one open - they load when you load a page I think.

You manage your greasemonkey scripts by going to the menu Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage scripts. A box comes up with what scripts you have installed.

To turn a script off temporarily , select it's name in the left hand side and deselect the "Enabled" checkbox down the bottom

To unistall one , select it's name in the left hand side and click "uninstall"

I made a picture of it cause i was like really bored at work

Manage userscripts dialog box

PS Had to retype this 3 times 'cause it kept disappearing for some reason ;(

Re: greasemonkey script for facebook

Greasemonkey is an addon that allows you dynamically rewrite how a web page looks or works . You can scripts that allow you to press a key on a facebook photo to go to the next one in the album or just change the look of the site

Easiest way to install them is to do a search userscripts.org , bring up the information for the script and in question then click install

EG

http://userscripts.org/scripts/search?q=facebook    Is the URL for a search on userscripts.org. Clicking on one brings up a page similar to this one :

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/28201

Click on "Install this script" . Then in the box that comes up wait for the counter to count down then "Install" again.

If you have a facebook page open the script should work once you reload the page (there'll be a list of what type of urls a script works on when you install it)

You can turn a script off by going to the menu Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts , then clicking on the script you want to turn off and making sure the "Enabled" checkbox down the bottom is not selected. To figure out which to turn off Use it's description that appears under it's title when you select it.

Have fun Laughing out loud

Re: greasemonkey script for facebook

I really don't remember how I did it specifically. I think i went under tools and either went to Grease monkey or the Add-ons link and then upload the scripts in there...
