Re: who's been looking at my profile
They're not gonna put something up like this because everyone wants to spy but nobody wants to feel as though they are the ones being spied upon. Fri, 02/05/2010 - 1:50am

Re: who's been looking at my profile
This matters because businesses are coming to facebook to market to you. They'll want to know who looked at their page so they can "push" advertising your way. This is just the beginning of the Tsunami. All of this is slowly breaking down our barriers to having intrusive behaviour in our lives. Can you say: "Scan your iris on your phone camera so we can validate your identity and GPS location. All the necessary technology is already available. Just a matter of time. You will eventually have a chip embedded in you and all you'll do is walk through a door way or be scanned and all known information about you will be available. All in the name of protecting ourselves from "terrorism". Unfortunately for me, I was never terrorized until the protectors caem to protect me. Perhaps it isn't me they are trying to protect after all. I think more accurately they are keeping me alive so I can participate in consumerism. Wed, 01/20/2010 - 6:29pm

Re: facebook viewers,,
I am also curious about this. This morning, I saw that one of my friends (Ellie) became friends with a person with the same name as one of my childhood friends (Jane). I clicked on Jane's profile page to see if it was, in fact, my old friend. Within minutes, Jane requested me as a friend. Could be coincidence, but I felt a little exposed. Sun, 01/24/2010 - 8:02pm

Re: who's been looking at my profile
ill let you in on a little secret - the 12 cycling names on your profile front page are the top 12 people whove looked at your profile in the last 12 hours. If you really get alot of views, those 12 names can change up to as short as 3 - 4 hours. However if your traffic is relatively normal it's 12 hours. If you don't get much views it can be days before those 12 names change. Just keep reloading your profile page to get a good look of the 12 people that are on there that its cycling through. If you have doubts try to investigate it through personal knowledge of whats been happening on the site. You'll will even begin to notice the pages of the people you always look on alot have you in there friends section. What did you think they put those random friends there for no reason? This is how it's been since the new facebook format, but sadly me giving this information out might put an ax on it, considering this is a high ranking result for such searchings on google. Have fun knowing this interesting little tid bit! and enjoy it while it lasts. Sat, 01/23/2010 - 6:22am

I have some celebs on my friends list that I guarantee haven't looked at my profile and at the moment two are showing on my front page along with people I know not to have been on facebook for months Sat, 01/23/2010 - 9:46am

Perhaps they are, in a spiritual way. You never know, though it may be a strage forum, if you visit it a lot, they may be trying to tell you something... Mon, 01/18/2010 - 1:35pm

Re: who's been looking at my profile
I always felt there was some connection between the top friends and your profile. However my opinion was that friends showing up on the top 12 just meant that they were online or active on facebook. I could be wrong. I just figured this to be true because before I was on facebook, about two years ago I was using ilike.com which is hooked up with facebook and has the similar top random friend thumbnails. I noticed that whenever I logged on and was active on the site, my face popped up on my friends top friends. I actually would keep refreshing and signing on, on purpose so I would constantly show up on some celebrity friends profiles lol. I just figured facebook probably worked the same way. But now that I think about it. I had to go to that friends profile to check it out, so I very well could have shown up from visiting, not just from signing on. Has anyone tested this out with a friend's profile or a fake profile?? Mon, 01/18/2010 - 9:25am

Re: who's been looking at my profile
I believe this to be true. I noticed this pattern a few days ago and actually asked myself if it had anything to do with them just recently viewing my page. As I kept reloading the page, some names in particular stayed there! Glad to know I was right with my guess. That being said, I don't know why people are so "gung-ho" on wanting to know who viewed their profile. What would they do with this info? Go and tell the friend who looked? I accepted the people on my list, as my friends and contacts, so I'd assume they'd look at my page when they have the time anyway. If I didn't want them looking, or would be so worried about it, I wouldn't accept them in the first place. Mon, 01/18/2010 - 9:50am

Re: who's been looking at my profile
this may be true and if so i agree about the tracking thing. i dont care if the friends i have look at my page. they are "suposed" to. even the suggested friend therory. if thats who looking i dont care either. everything on my page is private. if they want to stare at my profile photograph all day so let em. Re: who's been looking at my profile
ok it's not afraud question at all. sometimes someone wants to know if a certain person has taken a peak at their profile without having the embarrassment of asking them. is that so bad. maybe we wanna know if someone's looking because we're HOPING they did. ever think of that? Re: who's been looking at my profile
But it's a two way street. Sometimes maybe it would be nice to know if that person you're interested in checked out your profile. But do you want his ex girlfriend to see you checked out hers? Or do you want your crush to see you checked out their site 5 times in one day? Kinda makes FaceBook pointless to me. I think this whole thing will ruin facebook. If we friended them then they should be able to see our profile! Who cares? If we don't want them to look, then we must strap some on and unfriend them. That's the FaceBook way! And we shouldn't have stupid embarrassing stuff on FaceBook ever! Employers look for example. I know a guy in human resources who says they look up everyone and often don't hire well qualified people because every photograph of them on FaceBook is of them drunk & acting like complete fools and liabilities. Re: who's been looking at my profile
I'm not sure I understand, which 12 cycling names? I am looking at my profile page and all I see are the six friend pics on the side and whatever anyone else has posted. Could you go into a little more detail about where those 12 names appear? I would greatly appreciate it, you sound like you know what you're talking about, I just want to find these 12 names if I can. Thanks so much for the post! Mon, 01/18/2010 - 11:26am

Re: who's been looking at my profile
Click on the little "pencil" icon on the top right corner of the Friends box. The settings will show up and you can choose 6, 9 or 12 friends to show. You can also choose *exactly* who you want that can *remain* displayed (whether all 6, 9, 12, or just a few). Just type in their names. I also make sure the "Show friends list to Everyone" remains unchecked. I don't want "Everyone" on Facebook seeing my friends list. Wed, 01/20/2010 - 6:23pm

Re: who's been looking at my profile
1 - For the network, put in the city the person lives in Sometimes people don't put in a city so the network won't help or if you don't know the city then 2- Search for a friend (person A) of the friend you are looking for (person B). Maybe the friend you are looking for (person B) will be one of person A's friends. Post new comment |

"Technically, you can track which IP addresses have viewed your page. But to track specific people is illegal - well, if you want to stay within the site's rules anyway.
There are sites such as "Unfaced" - or Apps such as "Doorbell," "Stalker," or "Who is Watching You" - that offer the service. Using them, however, is against Facebook's Terms of Use.
