Wow! Lucky you! About it paying off, I mean. :) No, I'm sure they are a blessing, I wanted 6 children to begin with, and my hubby said no way, (he was the 6th child). As it turned out, we had 2 children and now have a grandaughter and I'm quite happy.
I can definitely say without a doubt, that you have your hands full.

Oh absolutely, they are ALL blessings, and I know that there are sooo many other "pay-offs" other than monetarily...just seems like (especially with 4 of them being teenagers) it's always money going OUT, faster than it's coming IN....so this is definitely NICE for us! 
Of course, it's going to be used toward our Yearly Family Vacation...can't wait!

Hi LynnH,
A friend of mine is 20 years old and she filed a tax return for 2007, but her mom claims her as a dependant. Will she get the stimulus check, or will her mom get her check? I looked on the link you have listed at the top, but I did not see it on there.
Also, both my fiance and I filed our taxes back in February and got our returns, but neither of us have recieved a letter from the IRS about the stimulus check. Should I contact the IRS to make sure we are getting our checks?

If a person can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return, they (your 20 year old friend) cannot receive the payment. (found in Notice linked below).
As far as I know, only the notice has gone out to inform taxpayers of the payment they could receive. The notice was just a reminder that you needed to file in order to receive it.
The first payments will start to be mailed beginning in May. The fact that you have filed your 2007 tax return insures that you will receive your Economic Stimulus payment.

EDITED TO ADD: The second notice is supposed to mailed to you shortly before the payment is sent.

I was reading some more facts about this and I found out that payments you receive from the Economic Stimulus Package will not be taxed when you file your 2008 tax return.
If you owe any back taxes, child support, etc., it will be deducted from your payment.
If you have a reduced or '0' payment because you weren't eligible for the Economic Stimulus Package payment and your tax situation is different in 2008, there will be a a worksheet included in the 2008 tax instructions to help those who did not qualify.
There will be two notices sent from the IRS. The first notice will be general in nature, informing you that the IRS is preparing to disburse payments beginning in May and the second notice will be more specific, informing you how much to expect in the payment and when it should arrive.
