Does anyone have and DVD copying software they really recommend? I have a MacBookPro, and a stack of blank DVDs and I wanted to copy over my DVD+RW discs from 2003-2005 onto permanent DVDs. The problem? iDVD sucks. It takes forever to copy a single DVD and it takes up so much of the computer's resources that the computer lags. I need something that will copy the 4.8 GB discs in about thirty minutes so I can have all of them copied and some duplicated for my mom, by tonight. Just a little project to keep me busy on this cold Sunday afternoon.

Before anyone suggests it, I've already searched Google. I'd like some personal feedback, if that's possible. I have about thirty DVDs to burn by 10pm tonight. Any ideas?

I'm currently using iDVD and still on the first disc--a 25 minute movie that has taken 2 hours to copy and burn. I need something that doesn't use as much of the hard disk's resources to just copy a DVD. My budget is $400 or less, preferably download-able software.

i've never actually tried copying a DVD with iDVD (i didnt even realize you could, or should try with iDVD). Have you tried this method: Burn a DVD?

I havnt used it in about 2 years, so my failing memory prevents me from giving my personal experience, but from what i CAN remember, HandBrake did everything i needed it to do.

Do you know if there's a setting on iDVD that makes it this slow? I remember making a DVD with my old iBook G4 and it only took 20 minutes, tops, and that included converting the video from .avi to .dv.

I'll check that out! Anything has to be better than this... *checks histogram* 10% burned in going on 4 hours!
