We were at a birthday party today and as I was videoing the BabyGeek in one of those jumpers, some kid came flying up against the side of the jumper and knocked the iPhone clean out of my hands. I was holding it and roughly eye-level, so it fell over 5 feet and smacked & bounced on the cement. Like a cat, it landed on the plastic (back) side, then bounced and flipped onto the glass-front.
Teary-eyed, i picked it up and found it working perfectly. The only evidence of the drop were two small scuffs in on the back - the largest on the back corner where it looks like it took the brunt of the fall.
Unfortunately it wasnt recording when i dropped it.. that would have been fun to watch.
Got me a new Magic Mouse.
i have the case that has the rubber piece and the plastic piece. i'm always dropping my phone and having a heart attack as i pick it up to see if the screen is shattered, it never has. i have the 16GB 3G, i've noticed a lot of my friends with the 3GS who have dropped it the screen has pretty much shattered or just cracks really bad. is there a difference in the phones?
