help me delete windows xp compeltely out of my drive
Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
at the bottom of the list somewhere it should say windows XP (your edition here)
hit remove and it will roll back to the previous version that was installed on that computer, if this cant be done then buy another windows install disk, NOT UPGRADE DISK!
The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked

You'll need a Windows 98 boot disk (check Google for free boot disks) or a bootable Windows installation CD (or a Linux CD that has formatting options).
You can try one of the following to remove Windows XP.
A) Reboot your computer and boot to the Windows 98 boot disk. This will bring you into a DOS prompt. Format C:\ when you get there. This will wipe your entire drive and remove Windows entirely.
B) Use a Windows CD and boot into it. Go to Recovery console (if XP) and format it from there OR go to install XP and delete the partitions (has a wizard), re-create the partitions, format and reinstall Windows XP.
C) Using a Linux CD, follow the instructions from the Linux website to format your hard drive.
Alternatively, if you have a Windows XP CD, you may be able to restore Internet Explorer by putting the CD into your CD-ROM, going to the Start menu and click Run, then type in "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and hit enter. This will start a reinstall of XP system files and may restore your use of Internet Explorer.
