OK, let's for a moment pretend that the world will end when the mayans said (supposedly) that it will...What would you do before then??
Me? I'd PIG OUT BIG TIME!! I don't diet per se, but I do limit the amount of sugar I take, won't eat white bread (unless I'm starving and there is nothing else to eat), etc. So, the day before (or two days before) I'd pig out on those foods....After all, it takes about 1 week for my body to show signs of overindulgence...
Oh, I'd also go on a shopping spree. I wouldn't get to enjoy the stuff I buy for too long, but at least I'd enjoy the pleasure of buying new stuff :)

Oh Sleuth, I completely agree!!!! Eat, eat, eat, indulge in all those tasty bad things. And spend all the money I have, hey, I might not be able to enjoy it too long but same thing goes for the money I'd have left in the bank, right?? And probably smack some of those annoying people you always have to be nice to (Boss, coworkers, distant family members and so on...) Re: December 21, 2012

The Mayan calendar doesn't predict the end of the world, their calendar is meant to start over... their calendar is made up of cycles... once the last cycle ends in 2012, it goes back to the first one... I think something interesting might happen, some sort of spectacular change (not necessarily good)... but I don't think it's the end of the world. I plan to spend that day, night, and following morning laughing my a$$ off at people, possibly causing havoc and chaos (read: paintballing, TPing houses and people).... and using it as an excuse not to buy christmas presents ("hey, I thought the world was gonna end, why waste time shopping for you?") Pffttt... Oh yes, and alcohol will be involved. ........ and what if it is the end of the world? Well, then I guess I'll be dead and not care.... doesn't matter to me. .·:·.·:·.·:·.· Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

well if you believe in that type of thing, which i am not saying that i do or don't, if the world really ends, then there is nothing to plan for. if the world does not end, and everybody thought it was, well they are going to feel pretty silly. my husband is a scientist and said there is no data to support the world ending 2012. just because it is on a few calendars doesn't make it fact. keep in mind it is a prediction. how many of those end-of-the-world-predictions have you seen come true this past century? once again, i am a show me the data.....kind of girl. and this concludes 2cents from 2na.

izzle, you scared the bejeezus outta me for a minute there.!! i thought you were serious about the mayans and their little brains and whatnot! seriously, on another aspect, imagine the odds the bookies would be giving on the numbers pool on 12/21/2012...so load up on 012, in any combo. juliek Re: December 21, 2012

Theres never gonna be an absolute way of knowing one way or another... we'll just have to wait it out... Although there have been lots of ideas as to what could happen to create an ELE, (extinction-level event), even the Mayans I'm sure didnt think that on that day a switch would flip and it would be over... Theres always a Deep-Impact scenario... But I think most people believe that "IF" it happens it will be by nuclear war... Theres a good side to this theory though... (not saying its all roses), If we are doomed to a nuclear war then at least we can rest assured that there will be survivors and that life will go on... I'm sure that a large percentage of the worlds population would die, but not all.. Damn thats a negative way to end that post.. so I'll add this.. At least waiting in lines wont be a problem anymore! Poor, poor Mayans. I think that with there small brains and limited ability to think (ie couldn't do math) they had become frightened by the unknown. They looked into their boiling cauldron and saw flying cars and a joint venture between Apple and Microsoft and they panicked. They assumed it was the end of the world. I can't blame them. They were savages with no comprehension of art of architecture. The certainly didn't have even basic communication skills. I'm honestly shocked they even had a calender. Besides, everyone knows it's really going down on 12/31/1999. Ok, for real. I will be shocked if it really happens in 2012. I like to watch those shows on Nostradamus and stuff and it seems compelling but I just can't get behind it. The Mayans sure seem to have things down to a science and all but unless I'm mistaken, we still only theorize why they ended their calender there. Maybe they got tired of counting. Just kidding. But really, I don't put too much thought into end of world prophecy. So I could be wrong. I guess we'll know in a few years. "I'm just like you only shorter."

Oh, I wasn't even aware that the Mayans predicted the end of the world...oh well...one more reason to get that tattoo since I ain't gonna have it forever!! lol Ok, seriously now..I don't believe in stuff like that. I am superstitious regarding some matters, but not this extreme. Yeah, i remember the panic in 1999 when everyone was sooooo scared of the year 2000.ha.we all know how that turned out!! Uhhh...who else besides the Mayans predicted this date as the end of the world? Inquiring minds would like to know! And how will it end?
Oh, and this website stated that the Mayans did not mean the true ending of the world... http://www.adishakti.org/mayan_end_times_prophecy_12-21-2012.htm Re: December 21, 2012

the only thing that concerns me at all about 2012.12.21, are the people who actually think somethings going to happen. one of my co-workers was commenting on how my mangers girl-friend is pregnent and how his belief in this stuff will effect his ability to be a parent...... politicians who believe in this crap REALLY scare me...... Re: December 21, 2012

i think it's all hype, just like the year 2000 and 2001 end of the world predictions, among countless others. the mayans never even said they thought that would be the end of the world or any major shift in the world. it's simply the end of their calendar recording, which is then meant to reset after 5000 some years. Yikes!! I'll be too young to die!! (I think we should protest the ancient mayans et al!!!)
so who else thinks it'll be the end of the world that day??
