Converting WMV to AVI

I bought a couple of TV series sets from amazon's UNbox program. I was under the impression that they could be copied and burned to dvd AND played in a typical dvd player. Turns out they are ONLY playable on computers. My TV does not have an s-video IN port. 

I have downloaded every free program available on cnet and downloads.com

I really need a program that will convert PROTECTED wmv files to avi xvid/divx files.

I have tunebites, but it cant seem to convert it correctly, which is a major bummer!

Any suggestions? help help!

thank you! I upgraded tunebit to the platinum version, and that FINALLLLLY allowed me to convert the files. Its a long process though, basically it re-records the video as it plays in real time. Its a great program if anyone else is interested in it!

I ran across this while looking for something else. It seems to be a program for removing DRM and then I guess you could use another program to convert it to AVI. I hope this helps.
