Show Your Love For TheGuG Video Contest
Win up to $550 !
Ok everybody, it's been long enough and we are ready for contest #2 - but this one is going to be tough, requiring hard work and creativity. That's why we think it's worth up to $550 !
The Contest: Make the most outrageous/interesting/funny/original video explaining why you love GrownUPGeek.com, why you hate GrownUpGeek.com, why you're addicted to GrownUpGeek.com, why your school blocked GrownUpGeek.com, why your old-fogey parents love GrownUpGeek.com (you get the idea) and post it on YouTube.
How To Win: Create your video and upload it to YouTube. Post a link to your video or embed the video in THIS THREAD by May 31, 2008. Voting will begin on June 1, 2008 and run through June 7, 2008. Our Premium Members will vote and pick the best two videos.
Who Can Enter: ANYONE! If you don't have a GrownUpGeek.com account, you must register (for free) to post your entry.
How Many Times Can You Enter?: You can create and enter as many videos as you want!
Prizes:
- 1st Prize: $500 and (one) item of your choice from The GuG Store
- 2nd Prize: $100 and (one) item of your choice from The GuG Store
- BONUS PRIZE: $50 and (one) item of your choice from The GuG Store to the video that has the highest number of YouTube views as of June 7, 2008 - so share your creation with the world. And YES, you CAN win 1st or 2nd prize AND the bonus prize!
Rules and fine print:
Your original video must mention GrownUpGeek.com audibly by name and /or visually (such as showing the GrownUpGeek.com website or displaying a sign, etc). The video must be at least 30 seconds in length, must be family-friendly and must be uploaded to YouTube.com. Cash payments will be paid via check and GuG Store prizes will be drop-shipped. Winners must (privately) provide their shipping/mailing information. Correspondence with winners will be done ONLY via the email address associated with their GrownUpGeek.com account.
Anyone found to be cheating or attempting to cheat in any way will be disqualified.

Hubby just brought home a video camera in a box and he needs help figuring out how to use it as he needs to document his new building as it progresses.
Was just looking for it and he took it with him to work this morning.
Darn my luck. Lol......not sure what I would video tape yet, but I did have another idea 2 nights ago when I was trying to go to sleep. Funny how my mind always wanders to GuG before drifting off to neverneverland.

NO NO NO its mine I tell ya mine - ok just kidding. Seriously I would love some competition. Come on your guys your going to let a girl beat you and a mom at that - LOL. I know we have some seriously creative girls here too. Oh well your loss my gain. No iphone here unless they start working on the nextel signals (hey my cell is a personal / work phone and I'm stuck with nextel). Nope promised the kids (since they helped to make it) that if we win they get to split it - vacation money. So what that would be $166. each and mom gets the extra $2. - woo hoo.

Ok so I'm just trying to bump this thread. Hey I posted my video so unless anyone else joins in easy money for me. I think I proved you can do one with out showing who you are and being secure. Hey my kids and I had fun doing it. My kids got excited when I told them I would split any money with then for vacation this summer. So check out my video and MAKE ONE TOO. Come on don't let me win this easy I need some competition so join the GUG fun!

I would love to do it but since I'm semi-private (and due to the nature of my job), I don't want to put a video of myself on YouTube.

well, me personally, due to the nature of the site, and our goals (ummm...snooping to say the least...) would be worried about the privacy and showing everyone our identity. it's enough to make me paranoid that i have pics of myself on the site....you know...for other's prying eyes! i agree, i wouldn't say my name or other personal id info. in our private forum (and i'm even hesitant to post in public forum) much less show my face on youtube saying i'm a member. shoot, i'm proud of this site as heck i love it to death, but i don't want people finding out i'm a member, signing up for premium membership and seeing all that i have posted, ya know...

exactly! seeing what we are snooping about, what our questions/goals are and needless to say the whole "target" thread....some people (if they decided to sign up after maybe seeing a vid on youtube that piqued their curiosity) might take issue, or worse, end up being one of our targets. but...i'll think over an entry involving a nixon mask.
Evil-you're a cali girl...maybe we could hit up 8391 Beverly Blvd #349 los angeles, ca and apply for jobs in their software security dept. and video the escapades for our fellow gugers (they probably wouldn't allow vid cam, but it might be funny) . maybe run into a few rent a cops, get kicked off the property, raise a little hell...something fun like that.
