Hey everyone!:

I'd highly appreciate knowing if you have the answer to my following question.  I've seen a few profiles, on 'MySpace', where members have their region (aka state) invisible; I've asked them how they had went about doing it, but they had told me that they have no idea.  Here are two examples, as to what I'm hoping someone will be able to assist me with...

Note: I highly hope that these examples aren't an inconvenience, I had edited both of them to (hopefully) make them easier to look at.

The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

here is a link to a site called free code source and there are a bunch of different options for hiding particular things on your profile. I use the code that hides my last login date and it works great. I hope this helps.

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

Help, I don't know what I did wrong!

I used Jessie's code:

headline text goes here" < font class="on padTB15" > < font class=on > Gender < /font > < font class=on >## years old< /font > < font class=on >City, STATE< /font > < font class=on >United States< /font > < /font > < font class=on >Last Login: Today< /font > < font class=off >

but did a lame job changing it:

<font class="on padTB15"><font class=on>Female</font><font class=on>30 years old</font><font class=on>United States</font><font class=off>

Now when you search for me, the headline includes:

Female30 years oldUnited States

Ack!  How badly did I mess it up?  I put the code on there 3/28; no telling if my target has noticed this and if they realize there's a code there...HELP!

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

Ugh, I'm sorry for not reading this sooner!

Try copy and pasting the code into a note pad. Very carefully, delete out the items in bold, replace with your own information and paste it back into your headline. There are some discrepancies I'm seeing between your code and what I posted. I also should have specified to remove the spaces from inside the < brackets > but leave the ones separating the brackets where they were. My apologies.

Also, where it says headline text goes here" you need to write a short headline. That will appear next to your picture on your profile - private or not. It can say whatever ya want. Mine is a quote from Shakespeare that I found amusing. Make sure ya sock in the quote mark [this thing----> " ] at the end of your headline. Myspace automatically puts one at the front, so it will look off if you don't have one at the end.

This is what you're looking for:

I think, therefore I am. ~Descartes" <font class="on padTB15"> <font class=on>Female</font> <font class=on>30 years old</font> <font class=on>City,State</font> <font class=on>United States</font> </font> <font class=on>Last Login: Today</font> <font class=off>

If you don't want a city and state, just delete out city and state but leave the rest of the code intact.

Also, I didn't create this code. I'm usually better about citing my sources, but I've had this one for so long I don't remember where it is from. I'm sorry I can't give credit where credit is due - but it is certainly not to me. I'm just sharing. *grin*

Hope this helped!

Jess

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

LOL don't worry about reading mine late; I am just now reading yours!  There is so much stuff on GuG I have a hard time finding it. Anyway, yes, I have a headline, and the stuff I listed below (Female, 30 etc) is showing IN the headlne...so I need to edit the code.  I removed ALL spaces including in between brackets, so I will do what you suggested (using notepad) and see if I can't clean it up from there.  HOPEFULLY I can do that this weekend!  Thx bunches and have a great weekend!

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

I see this is an old post but wondered if anyone had come up with something to hide the region only.  I don't mind the age, sex, etc showing...but I prefer to either hide the region or just state "United States."  Any help is appreciated!

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

GUG also has a area that has many codes to "hide" things on your profile.  You can see them here Myspace Layouts  The link is also located above the search box in the uper right hand corner.

I see your fairly new to the site - welcome to GUG!

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

Here ya go:

headline text goes here" < font class="on padTB15" > < font class=on > Gender < /font > < font class=on >## years old< /font > < font class=on >City, STATE< /font > < font class=on >United States< /font > < /font > < font class=on >Last Login: Today< /font > < font class=off >

Just take the spaces out of the code, delete out everything in bold, put in your own info and paste into your headline.

Hope that helps!
Jessie

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

Worked great!  The only ? I have was with the "last login" - I don't care if that shows - but all I knew to do was delete it from the code...(didn't feel like changing the date every day)...how do I use the code but leave the default "last login" intact?  TIA   Laughing

Re: Code To Hide Your Region??

Without changing the "Last Login" everyday, I have no idea how you'd leave it intact. LOL Sorry I can't be of more help!

Hey there!  I already have that code in my profile, but thank-you (kindly) for re-posting it.

How about something like this?

  How to hide your Region

Does that do the trick?

I already have that code in my profile, and it's very similiar to hiding everything in your 'Headline' (Age, State, Country, Location, and Orientation), but I'm hoping to find the exact code to hide both your state/country (or, just my state - if possible).  The first image is what you see, when you're viewing a friend's 'Blog' (it's located on the left-hand side of their 'Blog' page), and the second - well, that one speaks for itself.
