Aside from the support...my PowerBook has NEVER ever had a single problem in almost three years. Can't say the same about my pc...Oh how I miss the good old "ctrl+alt+del", hehe

Re: My Mac is all F'd-up! This is the worst problem i've ever h

after a little googling, i found the answer....

Apple's free support pages on their website have a document and a short video explaining how to clean the mouseball.. Seems you need turn the mouse upside down and rub the ball with a damp cloth... i was rubbing it with a dry cloth until my fingers were bleeding... i put a few drops of water on the cloth, rubbed it, and it was working in about 3 seconds..

PS - To all you Mac haters.. The mouse is covered under my iCare (or whatever they call it), so worst case the Mac Genius would rub it with water or replace it for me for free..

yah, and the Mac Wireless Mighty-Mouse does not (easily) come apart.. it's not like those "other" mice.

Re: My Mac is all F'd-up! This is the worst problem i've ever h

LOL my mighty mouse is wired not wireless. although i do have some "other" mice too

but i guess i have more tools and crap in my workspace than most people. and i might be a little reckless with my desire to take crap apart b/c i know if i can't fix it, i can find someone who will! (usually...)

roller ball on top of mouse to scroll through the pages? or old style mouse with roller ball underneath (instead of laser)?

either way, i've always just popped my mouses open, taken apart the roller ball thingy, wiped out all the gunk, wiped casing with something like lens cleaner wipes (the alcohol evaporates quickly & doesn't leave a residue) or make 1:1 alcohol & water solution. (only use a tiny tiny bit of fluid though.) but first make sure that whatever your mouse is made out of can take the alcohol at all! Smiling otherwise just use a chamois cloth to wipe it out. pop the casing back together and viola, it should work fine again.

Re: My Mac is all F'd-up! This is the worst problem i've ever h

since its a Mac you take it to a Mac center and pay 400$ for a Mac Genius to take the mouse apart and clean it with 70% pure or better rubbing alcohol

Do it. You won't regret switching. I've had my mac for 14 months now and I love it.
I'm not going to claim that Mac's are 100% problem free, because nothing is... but Apple has amazing support.
