For some reason, I am unable to connect to the town server. It goes through everything its supposed to and appears to be loading but gets stuck on the screen after retrieving event and avatar data.

every bleepin time i try to go to town i either get "server failed" or it stops loadind and says at the bottom "Read s.gaiaonline.com".... what the f*c& is that? sorry for the language but im pretty pissed off right now.... then sometimes it say copy error message and post it at games@gaiaonline.com ..... ohhhh.... k!! forgive me for NOT being "technically advanced" or anything but where EXACTLY is that?

I have found that I have better luck with certain parts of towns, like if I go to the directory, and keep clicking north and east for a few.

games@gaiaonline.com sounds like an email... so maybe they want you to email the error message?
As for the towns... have you tried using a different browser? Like Firefox if you use IE or IE if you use Firefox or something of the sort? Also, if you use Firefox, try dumping your cache and cookies by 'clearing private data'... if you use Internet Explorer, maybe try dumping your temp files and deleting your cookies (you'll have to go to Tools, Options... if I remember correctly)

Java incompatible?

I haven't had problems getting into towns too much, just seems to depend on how busy the servers are. I've been unable to see the numbers under "Find a Location for Your Home". They just aren't there. Even if I go all the way SW, I can hover over a square and get a number, but they don't display like in the screenshot SmartMom posted.
I'm wondering if this is part of my problem. I just restarted Firefox after an update. Like 2 minutes ago. As it was doing it's talkback thing, it shot me a message telling me that my Java Console 6.0.01 is incompatible with this version of Firefox. However, when I go to Java's site and try to update, they tell me I'm already up to date. It did this last time I updated Firefox, maybe a week or 2 ago, as well.
Not sure if I should leave this here, or give it it's own forum...

yeah same here. Maybe it should have a forum since I know others are having the problem too. I did try and get into the houses via IE (no java problems there) but no luck. Is there a compatible update for Java for Firefox?? It would be nice to know.

You shouldn't need the java console with the newest version of Firefox (2.0.0.5). That's why it's not compatible.

Currently I can't get into the houses either I've even tried both Firefox and IE. I know that Ladycerr is also having problems. Hopefully by Friday we can get in!
