Okay, my love of owning strange things has brought me to start a topic... I came across something today...
You can buy an acre of the MOON starting around 20 bucks... Now, I know they had this for the ocean floor in the Pacific ocean (again, an acre for 20 bucks)... but I had not realized we had claimed the moon and had rights to selling it to people... Granted, I know it's not like you go visit these places often... but still... seems like we're a little full of ourselves.... if russia catches on, they might start a war and steal my acre... then what?
Okay, so I'm probably exaggerating... since, I don't technically own an acre of the moon... yet...
..... and I'm sure Russia will honor my certificate if I show it to them..... they're nice people those Russians....

OH I saw that on TV a long time ago. So I checked that out. OMG did you see the prices??? 1 carat can go from 13k to 20k for 1 carat and that is for a loose stone - no setting. Plus you can pick the color of the diamond....I find that kinda creepy! They come in yellow, red, green, blue and colorless. Strange to say the least!

Yep you can buy a star and name it. They will even send you paperwork on it. Here is a site that will sell you a star and give part of the profit to charity: http://www.thestarnetwork.com/
My question is how do they have the write to sell stars, part of the moon and the ocean? Kinda sounds like a scam to me. Hell for $39.99 I can print up some nice looking paperwork and send it to you.

that's what I was wondering... how do they have the rights to sell the Moon and Stars??? I know purchasing the ocean floor is more like contribution for maintenance of said ocean floor... but stars and moon????

OK anime since you're a good friend and I like ya - I'll give you the "family" star deal. For only $9.99 I'll sell you the little one off to the right.
So go check it out - here is the directions: take off in your little space ship and go for 5 years, then hang a right towards Jupiter and continue on for another 10 years. Oh did I mention the star is next to the planet "Uranus" see your feeling the love now huh. 
That would be my luck - I would buy a star and end up next to "Uranus". Now if you don't like that star there is a 15 day return policy from the time of purchase, of coarse it will take you years to see if you don't like it or if it's not the "perfect" star.
But yes seriously who gives them the right to sell the stars?
