last seen 2 hours 39 min agoI'm a total blackberry head and just like to give other blackberry owners a 411. So in case you didn't already know, when you want to clear up unused content from your blackberry (keeping certain content in its memory can result in the blackberry running slow) all you have to do is hold down the alt button (which looks like it has two arrows going up and down on it) and type in L G L G while still holding down alt and an Event Log will appear. After this happens, hit the menu button and scroll down to "clear log." Another message box will appear saying "verify deletion of event log" and select delete and press enter. You've just cleared up you Event log!
Another helpful thing to do is to clear your browser cache at least once every week (recommended if you use this feature on your phone often). To do this you would select the browser from the menu. Once in the browser you should hit the menu key and scroll to "options." This will take you to the Browser Options menu, and then you scroll down to "cache operations." Press enter and you will be in the Cache Operations menu. Scroll down under "pushed content" and you should see a box that says "clear." Press enter and a message box will appear asking if you're sure you want to delete the pushed content, scroll to delete and press enter. Then scroll under the cookie cache and you will see another box that says "clear." Once again press enter, a message box will NOT appear asking you to delete. After you're done, press the back button on your blackberry; a messafe box will appear telling you its cleaning the memory. Once the message box goes away, you're done. You've just cleaned your memory!

does this work for clearing/deleting my inbox? i have several hundred email i would like to just wipe out. however, i do not wish to lose my contact data and phone numbers.

What smartmom said is correct! Just make sure that the email addresses and phones number are saved in your address book. Once you're sure that you have everything saved, go to the most recent date in your message and press the trackball and select delete prior. This will delete ALL the messages you have prior to that date. Ex. if you select today's date, it will delete everything and it will say *No Messages*

You just want to wipe out the emails only? Did you save the email addys that you wanted to? You can also save certain emails in a saved folder. To save the messages you want click on the tracker wheel on the email you would like to save and hit the save button.
Once you have saved the addys and now want to delete the emails here is what you need to do. Go to the DATE of the emails that you want do delete everything prior to that, not the email but the date. click on the date with the blackberry tracker wheel on the side. One of the options will be "delete prior". Once you click that it will delete all emails prior to that date.
