I had recently found an article on downloading AVG Pro for free and had toyed with the idea of switching from Norton's to AVG. I took the plunge today. The download link is spotty at best. I did get it to work first try today but had failed to get it to work two times previously on my brother in law's laptop.

I have removed Nortons and I am running AVG now. So far it's found one thing that Nortons, AdAware, SpyBot and Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal did not detect. So far I'm stoked. Also being on the internet while it's scanning is much nicer than when Nortons ran. So, if any one wants AVG Pro edition for free for one year you have until January 17, 2008 to download it.

i recently switched to AVG internet security. is there any known compatibility problems with Firefox? my cookies were getting identified and healed. it seems lately i keep having to reload/import all my bookmarks and adblock subscriptions. AVG said that theyre unaware of any conflictions with Firefox. online in the Firefox help forum i read about other people having similar problems in Firefox and said it was an unfixed bug. anyone else having similar problems?

Thanks for this!!!  I adore the AVG free version, and I've been wondering what the differences between them are, now I can play and find out for myself!
