OK, so after 12 years, I'm switiching carriers to Sprint (don't ask why).

I've been looking into the phone options and have narrowed it down to a few that won't break the bank, but aren't the free ones. I just would like to surf the net (i.e. check my myspace! haha), take a few pictures (having video would be nice), and text a lot. Other than that, I don't use my phone for anything else but talking. I chose these phones because they were quicker browsing the internet than the other ones. Some of those were super slow. I would like to know your thoughts on these models and if there's a phone I haven't mentioned but you absolutely recommend, please do so. I could spend up to $250, but would rather not. Wink

Moto Q 9c ($149.99)

Samsung Ace ($199.99)

Palm Centro (touch screen $99.99)

Treo 755p by Palm (just saw this one online but haven't checked it out in the store yet. Forgot the price, but it's under $200)

Looking forward to your responses! TIA!

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

sprint has seemed to screw up my bill every month in one way or another. I was overcharged 67 dollars this past month ( imagine that ) however i must say there customer service has always been good when i have called in to notify them of there billing error's. I have a blackberry pearl and I know with sprint they do not offer MMS with the smartphones. ( why they have blocked spartphones from there mms server i dunno, needless to say I have a camera on my phone but can not send pictures as mms only as e-mail ) so that is a downfall. My buddy has a palm treo and it seems to work pretty well if you like windows based phones. It seems to be a bit bulky but he is able to take pictures and recieve them and recieve video's. My wife works for verizon and when choosing our phones we looked at the motorola Q but she says with verizon's service they have alot of errors/bugs i dont know if this is on motorola's end or verizons so that might be something to consider.
hope this gave you some insight to my experience with sprint

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I use sprint and love it, wise choice since all incoming calls are free.
I also have the Palm 755.

Very easy to use does everything from snap shot of a web page so that you can go back to it later to bookmarking a page. It's also touch screen so If you like a certain photo while your surfing the web tap the photo to download it instantly to your phone and if you get email with an attachment downloads super fast. Also the email feature that comes with it you can set up multiple email clients. Text messenger for yahoo,AOL and MSN comes preloaded. A lot of other features as well.
Oh yea easy to play around with the myspace codes on there.Wink

If you have any questions pm and i will be happy to help.

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I had sprint for a few years about 5 years ago. Service area was terrible. I hated Sprint the entire time I had them. When I signed up the sales lady pointed me to several websites with free ringtones. Within a couple years  the websites were either gone or charging. The problem is that all cell phone companies suck. The way in which they conduct business is so sketchy. All this contract nonsense needs to disappear.

Now on to phones. I always have and always will recommend  Samsung phones. I have never had any problems with Samsung phones. I've been lured away by fancier phones but they don't perform like a Samsung. I never had battery issues which is the biggest problem I've had with other brands. I currently own a Sony-Ericsson S710A. It will take an iPhone or some other touch screen phone to replace it. You can only buy it on ebay now and it still fetches higher prices than what you can get a new phone for. It does pics, email, internerd, mp3 and I can record calls to my baby's mama and save them to the memory stick and burn to cd for say court or something.

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

Sprint is the only cell phone carrier I've ever had. Never had any problems with them. We found that they offer the best family plan. As far as phones, I don't have anything fancy. I've been using the same Sanyo phone for several years now. It's pink, cute, and is a good quality phone. Maybe I'll upgrade to a camera phone someday (I know, I'm so out of it).

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I have Sprint and a Sanyo.  Never (knock on wood) had any problems.  Had a Samsung, too, with Sprint.  Like both.

Glad I'm not the only one who has Sprint!!!

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I know this was a question about phone choice, but if you are switching to Sprint for just yourself.... are you familiar with the Sprint Sero Plan? That is what my husband had until we decided to go with a family plan. You can check it out here

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I am a loyal samsung/sprint user. ive never had a single problem with a samsung phone. it could just be luck, but ive had 7 different samsung phones through sprint since 1996 when i first got a phone. I dont have the one you listed above, but I just thought id throw out my general observation. good luck!

Re: Anyone use Sprint?

I'll also add that I've had good luck w/ Sprint phones and taking pics. Like you had said about extra features, its really the only thing I need my phone to do besides the 'talking'...

Right now I'm still using the Sanyo I got a couple years ago. It takes pretty good pics for a phone and can do short video as well.
