As much as I loved Westside Story I never could figure out the part where the main male Character is running through Spanish Harlem screaming "Maria!!! Maria!!!" on only 1 girl comes out the window let alone peeks. Huh?
I personally didn't care for them bouncing back and forth in this "First time ever" 2 cities in 1 hour episode. Cause not only has the usual content been lacking in the 1 hour per city episodes (mother was so bored she usually walks away, and didn't even bother to watch with me this week) but with this particular episode the thing felt even more rushed then in previous seasons. (Mom is a fan of the Sing-a-long which has been lacking,as well as the segment of weird acts that gets through)
It is so hilarious that the first contestant was talking about Simon's "niceness" in the post audition booth cause he called the boss of the contestant, who foolishly resined her job cause she was "so sure" she was going to be the next American Idol, to ask for the boss to give her her job back cause while the audition didn't go that well he that she was a very nice girl.
Again, it isn't mention much but Simon is 1) a Vegetarian 2) a member of Peta and 3) He does relief effort in Africa and does other Charaties...he's just the type of person that doesn't need to brag about his accomplishments. (And I this cause in some interviews with the "Man with the Scowl" some interviewers bring up this side of Simon which he considers "personal" and only then does he uneasily discuss it briefly)
The Singing Contestant chose the wrong song. It was a bad, maybe next time but rubbing the 700 contests with a lot of wins couldn't even get her a second song choice...lol
And right after her stating she wont give up and all the attitude about not giving up and the judges are wrong there was a whole series of contestants that thought they were better then they really were to the song "your no good".
Self confidence and ego is good to a certain degree and is just as important as family and friend support but I highly doubt that they were as good as they thought they were.....which reminds me of a question Simon often asks a contestant after we witnessed his/her "golden throat"..."You really think that was good"? (Most of them believe they are,though we heard better...lol)
I think the only reason why the age of Aquarius girl was focused on was because of her statement that she likes to dance naked. She, amazingly as one of the borderline eccentric contestants, actually had the "chops" to make it to Hollywood. Also she was an example of the confidence and energy and actual ability to sing that contrasts the ego over talent segment
Obviously Jackie didn't know dancing around while singing is a bad idea. And the only reason her audition was included was likely because as soon as Simon said "can I say something" the window in the back of the judges "groaned" deeply then the windows caved in interrupting Simon's criticism about Jackie asking who she should be. "Something" or "Someone" watching over Jackie probably thought Simon was going to be mean and "whizzed a warning shot" by Simon...lol
The Wicked Game segment started with a introduction in Spanish (subtitled) about the "land of Enchantment" but also of broken dreams and of course rejected contestants.
Joel screaming and jumping into the pool screaming "i got a no" in a superman suit was probably was the most rememberable of all the crazies this season
Norman, I agree with Kara, don't have a chance in Hell (week) as a Entertainer not a serious singer, but much like Conan Obrian that can't sing seriously for more then a few versus before getting silly...Norman wasn't that bad. (Love Conan's Lula-bye, and Serious duet of Island in the Streams with Dolly Parton that broke down into Conan getting silly in the Second verse and making Dolly Parton laugh so hard she couldn't sing)
Baby and puppies are attention drawers aren't they? I think Christopher swayed Simon to be less critical of his sister then he would have normally been...lo
Alexis and Simon are lovers,Not!!!
Seemed like they were almost egging her on to give Simon the Fingers and call him a (censored)...lol
And crickets when she was asking what she should do to now because she "choked in there" to the people outside that was just staring at her
Overall I agree with this Years auditions missing "something" that made me not enjoy it as much as the last seasons "3 Ring Circus" the auditions usually are.
Namely the "Butchered Song", the String of weird and bad singers that actually think they are good or that it is "America got talent" not "American Idol" that normally made the show a comedy that this part of the show it is meant to be
I think they got a little "Lame" from pressure that the pre-shows are considered "Humiliating" and "Degrating"....Yeah, thats why most people (like me) watch it...it isn't for the good Singing (yes) or bad singing (no) cause will see the Creme of the crop get weeded out during Hollywood Hell week then vote for our top 36 which will be the best of the best

This Installment ends the Audition runs and Next week is 1 of 2 weeks dedicated to Hollywood Hell Week instead of the usual 1
Looks like they got rid of the individual performance scheme after how badly last years contestants were good as individual singers but sucked during their group performances with voices clashing, so we are having singing groups and the Drama that goes along with the contestants trying to get along(or not) again.
Lets face it, Hollywood Hell Week makes AI is the original reality Drama show cause unlike those poser shows where they are in front of a Camera 24/7 and were paid to do it ,contestants are not performing for the cameras that they eventually just need to get used to being there...or not, the way the cameras are set up make them unevasive (most of them are out of the way and "zoom in" to catch the Drama)
