Happy 8/8/08.....I think! August 8 2008, 8-8-08: 888 corresponds to “Jesus” in Greek, the language of the Bible’s New Testament. 777 in 7-7-07, 7/7/07, July 7 2007, corresponds to “Cross” in Greek, and 666 is the number of the Antichrist in the Book of Revelation. Numerical and Bible prophecy significance.  What were we expecting? Last year's triple 7's had people convinced they would be luckier than unusual that 7/7/07 day. Casino's were loaded with people ready to jump on the band wagon. If you practice Chinese Numerology then "lucky 8" will bring you wealth and prosperity.

But what is behind today's 8.8.8, besides it being Friday, lots of weddings will take place today, and the China Games begin. What rumblings have you heard or read?

 I didn't know it until last night, but because the legal limit for drinking and driving is .08 here in RI, we had a giant event where the cops were stopping anyone who passed into their checkpoint. I haven't heard the #of dwis compared to the # of stops, but hopefully this saved some lives...juliek

wow!  the opening ceremony is amazing!

hey is the US using pros in basketball this year?  i thought they only allow college players now.  i saw kobe and lebron briefly, so i wasn't sure.

Yeah - it's been a pro team for a while.  There used to be rules about amatuer athletes only being allowed to participate, but now a lot of Olympic events allow professionals.
